The new Thermal Excess Flow Valve (TEFV) maintains the properties of the EFV, while adding further protection against gas-related fires and explosions. This change provides even more protection for home and family.

In the event of a catastrophic rupture or disconnect, unrestricted gas flow forces the diaphragm to firmly position itself against the seat. This immediate action restricts gas flow to help avert a hazardous build-up of gas. Brasscaft utilizes a thermal ring in its new TEFV. This thermal ring stops gas flow through the valve when it is exposed to temperatures over 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
